My inspiration for this room, is from a book I own. It’s called These islands: a portrait of the British isles by Rich Stapleton. It’s a beautiful book full of incredible photography. The image on front of the book I was particularly drawn too. The calm beach scene. Light, airy. With hints of my favorite colour - grey.
My favourite thing to do is to look around grand halls and houses. I've loved doing this since I was young! I know. Weird! The attention to detail draws me in. Wood paneling, fireplace tiling, door knobs, light switches, decorative coving, servant bells, hand printed wallpapers. The list is endless - I'm completely fascinated!
A secret walled kitchen garden - yes please! Bradley Gardens has been on our 'to visit' list for a while. A really lovely place to brunch, lunch and dine as well as a home, gift and nursery shop surrounded by beautiful gardens. Ticks all our boxes of a great place to visit.
I've always loved running through sand dunes as a child. B seems to enjoy it too! After a fish n chip lunch in Seahouses we walked along North Sunderland beach towards Bamburgh castle. A beautiful day next to the sea
We love to find somewhere new. Another Place Hotel is a hidden gem on the river banks of Ullswater in the Lake District. Homely, relaxed and super child friendly. I've added the 'super' because they had literally thought of everything!
Glamping is the happy compromise. Sleeping under canvas - in comfy beds! Oh and a hot shower and toilet out the back. We never try to visit the same place twice, but we had such a great holiday at Secret Meadows in Suffolk that we had to book up again!
